Day 01 : Arrive Goa
Arrival in Goa and proceed for check in at hotel.
Day 02 : Goa
Arrive at Goa and transfer to the hotel. The afternoon is at leisure.
Day 03 : Goa
After breakfast, proceed for a half day sight-seeing tour of Goa, visiting
Basilica of Bom Jesus, Se Cathedral and the City of Panjim - bustling with
shops and tourists. The afternoon is at leisure to relax on the beach.
Day 04 : Goa

Relax on the beach.
Day 06 : Goa
Relax on the beach.
Day 07 : Goa - Mumbai
After a relaxed breakfast, proceed to the railway station for your journey
to Mumbai. Upon arrival transfer to your hotel in the city.
Day 08 : Mumbai
In the morning excursion to Elephanta caves by motor launch. Visit the Albert
Hall Museum and Jehangir Art Gallery and then see the tower of Silence where
the Parsi community leaves their dead to be eaten by the vultures and other
prey birds. Also visit the Gandhi Smriti museum and the Kamala Nehru Park
with its unique Boot house.
Day 09 : Mumbai - Jaipur By flight
Fly to Jaipur in the morning and upon arrival at the airport in the morning
you will be met by our driver and taken straight to check into the hotel.
In the afternoon a cycle rickshaw ride in the old city unfurls the magic of
the pink city.
Day 10 : Jaipur
Visit the Amber forts and palaces in the morning; included is an elephant
ride at the Amber fort. See the marvelous Sheesh mahal built in the 17th century
in a fusion style of Hindu and Islamic art. Also see the hall of public audiences
and Maharaja Man Singhs Palace who had twelve queens. Also visit the
carpet manufacturing factory in the city of Amber. After lunch set off to
see the Pink city visiting the observatory Jantar Mantar built in 1727 by
Sawai Maharaja Jai Singh II who was a mathematician, an astronomer an astrologer
and a great musician of his era. Then visit the City Palace of the Maharaja
of Jaipur with a fabulous collection of robes and saris in cotton and silk
with gold latticed work. The city palace houses a collection of paintings
also in the painting gallery and of course a collection of arms and ammunitions
in the ammunition gallery. This evening after the visit discover the art of
cutting and polishing of gems for which Jaipur is world renouned.
Day 11 : Jaipur - Agra
Leave for Agra in the morning and enroute visit the phantom city of Fatehpur
Sikri: the erstwhile capital of the Mughal emperor Akbar the Great.
Visit the diwan-i-am - the hall of public audiences where the emperor used
to give justice to the oppressed subject of his. See Jodhabais palace
(Akbars Hindu wife) that is even bigger than his own private palace.
Later visit Salim Chistis tomb at the nearby mosque. Salim chisti was
a sufi saint who blessed Akbar and his Hindu wife with a long awaited son.
Akbar was so overwhelmed that he built a mosque in his remembrance to thank
the Sufi saint. Continue towards the city of Taj and reach by early evening.
Day 12: Agra
In the morning after breakfast a guided city tour introduces you to the Taj
Mahal. Taj Mahal - a must see with the rising sun as the Taj Mahal is bathed
in the golden rays of the sun. Built by Shah Jahan, the Taj is a white marble
memorial that houses the tomb of his beautiful wife Mumtaz Mahal. This monument
took 22 years to be completed and was designed, and planned by Persian architect
Ustad Isa. Apart from its stunning design, balance and perfect symmetry, the
Taj is also noted particularly for its elegant domes, intricately carved screens
and some of the best inlay work ever seen anywhere in the world.
Then see the Agra Fort built by Akbar that houses many fabulous palaces built
in Indo Islamic style. See the marble palace of Shahjehan that was built with
the remaining and rejected stones from the Taj Mahal - Mussamman Burj.
Afternoon is free for shopping with your driver and car.
Day 13: Agra - Orchha - Khajuraho
Today we board the Shatabdi Express to Jhansi. Upon arrival at Jhansi transfer
to Orchha - a small township in central India. In the village time has
stopped. And you feel the timelessness of this spot. Orchha is a medieval city
founded by Bundela rulers with palaces and temples of the 16th and 17th century
- which have remarkably withstood the onslaught of time. The river Betwa
picturesquely flanks the city.
Reach Orchha by 1130 hrs and see the beautiful Palace Complex - Jahangiri
Mahal and the Raja Mahal. Closely study the intricacies of the mural paintings
in the Raja Mahal and visit the Laxminarayana Temple.
Post lunch continue towards Khajuraho about 182 km away by road.
Day 14: Khajuraho - Varanasi By flight
Morning sight seeing shows us the temples built during the 9th to the 11th centuries
by the powerful dynasty of Chandela rajputs. The temples with their erotic sculptures
are a feast to the eyes. The Chandelas built 85 temples in all but today only
20 temples stand intact. Visit the eastern and western group of temples before
being transferred to the airport to catch your flight to Varanasi.
Upon your arrival in Varanasi transfer to your hotel. Rest of the day is free.
Day 15: Varanasi - Calcutta (by overnight train)
Early in the morning (0500hrs) we take you to banks of the river Ganges where
we board a boat to see the morning ablutions of the Hindus from the security
of our boat. The boat ride starts from Dasashwamedh Ghat and ends at Manikarnika
Ghat along the sacred Ganges. See the Kashi Vishwanath temple and the Gyanvyapi
kund and the mosque attached to it. Also visit the Benares Hindu University
the largest residential university in India with more than 3000 residential
students
Return to your hotel for breakfast. Later visit Sarnath the sacred city for
the Buddhist all over the world. It was here that Lord Buddha preached his first
sermon to his first five disciples. Also worth visiting is the museum with artifacts
dating back to 3rd century BC. Visit the nearby ruins of the ancient seat of
learning in Sarnath.
In time transfer to the train station to continue towards Calcutta; the cultural
capital of India.
Overnight in air-conditioned sleeper class train.
Day 16: Calcutta
Reach Calcutta (Howrah Station) and check into your hotel and have breakfast.
In the post lunch session see the Indian Museum with its rare artifacts on
display.
Day 17: Calcutta
After breakfast in the hotel proceed for a city tour seeing Missionaries of
Charity (a charitable organization started by Mother Teresa). Visit the Jain
temple in South Calcutta and view the Rabindra Setu: a cantilever bridge across
the holy Ganges (called Hooghly in Calcutta). Afternoon is free to unwind.
Day 18: Calcutta - Delhi By flight
In the morning after breakfast at your hotel transfer to the airport for your
flight to Delhi. Upon arrival in Delhi you will be transferred to your hotel
in the city.
Post lunch an extensive sightseeing tour of New Delhi would include a visit
to the Humayun's Tomb, the Qutub Minar, a drive along the ceremonial avenue
- Rajpath, past the imposing India Gate, Parliament House, the President's
Residence, Lotus Temple and would end with a drive through the Diplomatic
Enclave. Return to your hotel in the evening.
Day 19: Delhi
Start a full day sight seeing of Delhi with your guide.
A sightseeing tour of Old Delhi would entail visiting the Raj Ghat
- the memorial site where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated; Jama Masjid - the largest
mosque in India and the Red Fort - once the most opulent fort and palace of
the Moghul Empire. Enjoy the cycle rickshaw ride from Jama Masjid to Chandni
Chowk.
In the evening you will be escorted to a luxurious restaurant for a farewell
dinner and a tour debrief.
Day 20: Delhi - next destination
In time transfer to the airport for your international connection.
