Day 01 Arrive Delhi
Upon arrival transfer to your hotel.
Day 02 Delhi
City tour of Delhi introduces you to the erstwhile British capital of the 20th century in India. See the Red Fort and Jama Masjid in the old city and visit the Qutub Minar and Humayun’s Tomb in the New City.
Day 03 Delhi – Raipur – Kawardha
Arrive at Raipur airport from where we will drive 120 km to the former Princely State of Kawardha. Familiarise yourself with the Palace Kawardha and nearby cultural sites, including the captivating Bhoramdeo temple complex. In the evening a welcome drink is hosted by the royal family.
Day 04 Kawardha – Raipur – Kanker
The morning leave for the former princely State of Kanker. Sightseeing and overnight at Kanker Palace.
Day 05 Kanker – Kondagaon – Narayanpur – Jagdalpur
Drive to Jagdalpur. You will encounter here the special nature of North Bastar with a visit to a colorful weekly market. It gives you a great opportunity to meet the local people. At Kondagaon discover some of Bastar’s finest handicrafts, and the people who make them. Lunch will be a picnic in the deep green sal forests. Enjoy dance by youthful members of Bastar’s unique ‘ghotul’ dormitory system.
Day 06 Jagdalpur – Chitrakote Falls
Bastar’s main town and former capital, sightseeing of historical Jagdalpur and the Anthropological Museum is completed by a sunset idyll at the Chitrakote waterfall, Bastar’s very own ‘Nigara’ on the Indravati River: you will also visit some of the local Bison-Horn Maria tribe, renowned for their spectacular ceremonial dancing. You will be entertained by a performance of the tribal people, returning to your hotel.
Day 07 Jagdalpur – Kanger Valley National Park – Jagdalpur
Visit the rich forests of the Kanger Valley National Park, the enchanting Tirathgarh waterfall and the extraordinary stalactite and stalagmite caves. Kanger retains the original intensity of the forests that once covered this whole region.Here too are forest tribal people in their natural habitat. There will be time also to explore some of Jagdalpur’s unique handicrafts before dinner at the hotel.
Day 08 Jagdalpur – Raipur
Drive to Raipur. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 09 Raipur – Delhi – departure
Departure transfer to Raipur airport for flight to Delhi. Upon will meet yon arrival in Delhi you will be escorted to a local restaurant for a farewell dinner where your Tour Manager for a tour debrief.
